My Biography
Lucia Amelie Gloker from Hunsrück.
The passion for horses originated on my birth farm (Rootshof), and a deep connection has accompanied me until today.
Hello dear ones,
my name is Lucia Amelie Gloker i am currently 20 years old and I come from the beautiful Hunsrück region.
I was born and raised on my mother's lovely little farm (Rootshof) where I was surrounded by horses every day. Horses have been a part of my life from the very beginning and even as a little girl a passion for these fascinating creatures grew within me.
I spent every free minute outside with the horses which allowed me to learn how to interact and communicate with them at a very young age.
On my fourth birthday,
i received my first horse as a present, a small Shetland pony mix mare named Lotti.
She came to us from a poor condition and initially wouldn't even let us touch her.
It was from her that I learned to become confident in the saddle! Those years from four to eight were challenging and intense but also so formative for my future path.
Even as a child, i would often assist my mother in her work observing her as an experienced psychologist and equine therapist.
At the age of 12
i started to shift my focus more towards groundwork and liberty training.
Inspired by videos and films i approached it with naivety, wanting everything to work as quickly as possible.
The horses, in a very honest and direct way, held up a mirror to my face.
So over many years i not only learned the correct body language but also worked extensively on myself and my expectations.
As a teenager
i started working with my first clients and learned to pay attention not only to the horse but also to the human.
Gradually, it became clear to both myself and those around me that horses were more than just a hobby for me.
After many ups and downs
a big dream of mine came true in 2017:
My first major performance at the Koblenz Equestrian Fair.
With this i also discovered my passion for being on stage and performing in front of an audience combined with my greatest passion, horses.
There is hardly a more beautiful feeling for me.
In 2018, Sancho and I won first place in the Cavallo Cup at the Cavallo Academy in Mönchengladbach.
At the age of 16
i embarked on a five-month stay in the USA which provided me with the opportunity to see many things from different perspectives.
I learned a lot about myself as a person and since then i have been fluent in English.
Even there i had the privilege of working with horses and further training a Quarter Horse stallion in the discipline of reining.
It was a very special time.
At the age of 18
i successfully started my own business in training horses and riders deepening my knowledge and skills.
I learned to approach each team in a neutral and open manner striving to support them on their journey in the best possible way.
During internships/courses with renowned horse trainers such as Arien Aguilar, Laury Tisseur, Kenzie Dysli, Uta Gräf/Stefan Schneider, Peter Pfister, among others i was able to acquire knowledge and learn new training methods.
Additionally i worked with Alizée Froment for a few months which inspired and nurtured me in many areas.
2021
i had the opportunity to participate in the Mustang Makeover Trainer Challenge.
It was a great challenge to showcase an untouched Mustang within three months at a major show and gain his trust but it was an incredible experience nonetheless.
Working with Masou opened up new perspectives for me since he grew up in the wilds of America unlike domesticated horses.
As a result i had to adapt my training to this horse and question familiar methods which expanded my repertoire.
The daily training with the
horses
has made me calmer, more thoughtful and more focused in so many areas and I am grateful that the horses to this day remind me every time that it is never them, but me, the human being, who is the problem.
I am very grateful for the patience of my animals and for the development we have gone through so far.
I am looking forward to every further step we can take together.
